Introduction

Hello! We are Jasmine and Meg, two students currently studying primary education at Monash University.

Help Them Thrive is a digital resource that we designed to support teachers who may have students dealing with anxiety. Across a series of posts, we discuss the developmental impacts of mental health issues, the need to differentiate in the classroom, along with much more.

The website and Instagram were established as a result of a group assignment, where we were required to create an original resource that would support teachers or carers, about a topic that impacts child development. This was also designed to be something that could be used within our future careers as educators.

When discussing the assignment, we found that we were both extremely passionate about mental health causes, with a specific focus on anxiety. We considered what we as future educators would need and like to know in these contexts, and also about what young people dealing with mental health issues might appreciate in terms of support within the classroom. With a lot of late night stressing, Help Them Thrive was created! We hope it can be utilised by other educators, and eventually be revisited by us both in the future.
